TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma (February 19th, 2011) Lindsey Spoon from Owasso, OK is the new Little Miss Wheelchair Oklahoma. Her active and inspiring personality assured her win for the 2011-2013 title. Eleven year old Spoon is the third Little Miss to win such a title for her state.

“I feel like I can make a difference in the lives of kids with disabilities. I feel that this is an important event and I hope to show kids with disabilities that they can be anything they want to be and do anything they want to do with the support of family and friends. I enjoyed getting to meet the other contestants. I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve as Little Miss Wheelchair Oklahoma.”

Lindsey has cerebral palsy and uses a manual wheelchair every day. She enjoys such activities as horse-back riding and working on her personal blog. At school, Lindsey participates in honor choir and cheerleading. Spoon's platform and outlook on life is that she is not so different from other children and strives to do all that she can.

Spoon also likes to convey the importance of support from family and friends. If you want to show your support for Lindsey, and her coming years as Little Miss Oklahoma, look her up on Facebook.
